Old Christmas: Orthodox Christians flavor Feast of the Nativity with tradition | al.com

Feast of the nativity on January 7th

Aka the “Old Christmas”

In Russian orthodoxy one tradition is to eat fresh garlic dipped in honey. The first bite of the Holy Supper of Russian Orthodox Christian traditions symbolizes a prayer that the bitter problems of life will be overcome by the sweetness of God’s love and grace.

I'm a designer, a nerd, a friend, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a Barbadian, a person.

My name is Tiffany,
and I lie.

I lie to impress, to be comfortable, to be accepted. I lie because it's easier than facing the truth.

But the truth is real. It's hope and it is life. Even when it's messy, or difficult, controversial or unorthodox...

And here, I am finding honesty.
